Kurzick or Luxon
Hi, I am a guild leader I have just recently got back into Guild Wars and I noticed you can form an alliance with either the Kurzick or the Luxon what is the difference? Do I get better armor or access to certain places please explain - Darx

Some people get really passionate about their chosen faction but really there isnt a difference. Sure the luxons are based around the Jade sea and the kurzicks are based on the echovald forest (i think im a luxon myself) but really theres no difference, you get a few different missions with each and some missions where you compete with the other side you have different tasks to accomplish. Also each side has its own armor sets but those are basically the same just look a bit different. Really all i can say but hope it helped =D

IF your alliance in total has the most Kurzick faction (for example) you may control the Kurzick main town, House zu Heltzer, and therefore the access to the Kurzick elite mission, Urgoz's Warren. (And for Luxon, the city is Cavalon, the mission, the Deep.) I would not worry about that until you've accumulated 22 million faction lol. In the meantime, there is no advantage to choosing one side or another. If you are a Kurzick guild and your character wants Luxon armor or whatever, you can still do that. |

It determines which side your guild members fight with in alliance battles.
Access to armours depends on each member's amount of luxon and kurzick faction, not on the guild. |

if you own factions you can get to any place in game, whether you are kurzick or luxon.
The only difference is the styles in armor, most people favor the kurzick armors more, much more gothic and midevil. As for if you want to AB a lot, I suggest going Luxon where you do not have to wait 10-20 mins to get into a game. or you could always get guest invites and play both sides(like me ^_^) |

most guilds are kurzick, and most people prefer kurzick (i have no idea why). you need ALOT more faction to own kurzick outposts than luxon outposts. currently im kurzick, although i think the luxon side is alot more fun and much more challenging than the kurzick side. its kind of foolish to choose a side based on what kind of armor they have....and like ShadowRequiem said, if you want to ab alot, go luxon because you wont have to wait over an hour to join a game on a busy day.

Actually... I believe the Kurzick outposts need more faction to control is 'cause it's easier to faction farm on the Kurzick side.
On a side-note, most wammos prefer kurzick armour and weapon skins. Meh. |

I vote Luxon also. I like to think that they are the Factions Hippies...and I heart their armor.

LUXONS FTW!
Seriously though, here is what I feel should be considered; 1) You can't see half the time in scum territory because it's pitch black 2) The scum mission is alot easier 3) The monsters seemed tougher to me in Luxon territory 4) The scum always seem to be losing the war and we end up having to fight at my least fav AB map, Grenz Frontier 5) Armor styles are quite different, check GuildWiki if you are looking for a specific armor type 6) I think there are better elites on the Luxon side (Dragon Slash FTW), although some elites can be captured on both sides That's all I can think of for now |

A few unprejudiced conclusions:
- Kurzick goes gothic, Luxon goes ''Gipsy'' ( with their armors and buildings) - Kurzick goes the ''depressive'' way ( witch means black or dark), Luxon goes the more ''cheerfull'' way... (witch means red, brown, yellow...) - Kurzicks headquarter is in the middle of a dark bad looking forrest. Luxons headquarter is near the Jade Sea (cold environnement) - Everybody takes Kurzick, there are very less Luxon-people. - Their armors and quests are equal -... Time to make your own conclusions |
